Lake John & Pug Lake
July 4th, 2010

I have been on a real run lately. I have added 10 lakes to my list in the past two weeks. Much in part to Roy Roscoe. He has helped my get into spot with his truck that I would have never made it into myself. While out we have spent time checking in on various camps on the different lakes so he can let the owners that all is well. While on Lake John we stopped by one camp that was built in the 1930's. There is allot of history in these buildings in the woods. Countless hunting, fishing & trapping trips. It is sad to hear that many of these camps not being used very often and in some cases they are being torn down. I agree with having the Toebiatic area but I do not agree with with restricting access to it. If anything it should be made easier to access. Many people do not spend much time in the woods and making it more difficult will discourage many from going. It is going out there that has given me a real  appreciation for it. The only thing I find very discouraging is when I find garbage in the woods, it is those people who leave stuff behind ruin it for everyone. I am sure it is a very small percentage of people who do this but it still very wrong and why should it ruin it for all. The Toebiatic belongs to all of us and it is our responsibility  to take care of it.
