Mangnum Lake
June 16th, 2010
There are several lakes in Shelburne County that are not easily accessible they are either down private roads that are sometimes gated. I will not trespass to complete my list but it is not always evident who owned the road. The ones that I have been able to track down have allowed me access to the lake. It is too bad that gates are necessary but I do understand there are good reasons for them. Anyway Mangnum lake is located in Sandy Point and I found out who owned one of the roads back, after a visit I was granted permission to go back. It is a nice lake and a great place for a camp. I was told that there are trout in the lake but I did not have any luck(which is not surprising), I rarely catch anything while out. I hope I never have to survive on what I catch, I would not last very long.
