Oak Park Lake

Oak Park Lake is like many lakes in Shelburne county and best explored by canoe. I know some would say by kayak as well and I do not disagree but I am partial to the canoe. The reason the canoe is the the only real way to get out is that the lake is loaded with rocks of all sizes. On this trip I traveled through the narrows and around the lower part of the lake and down the Downey river for a short way till I encountered the first beaver dam. When the water level comes up I will have to plan to travel down the rest of the river down to Barrington Bay.
